Cadence

The initial push for the project is to release the DesignTools code that works with the programs in the Cadence tool-chains, particularly those that work with the Cadence PCB Editor (Allegro). There are tens of thousands of lines of Cadence specific SKILL code programs sitting here waiting for me to get them integrated into the project framework.

Like all EDA, CAD and CAM vendors, Cadence likes to rename, rebrand and remarket their products. The renaming can have humorous side effects but it does not lend itself to clarity.

In cases where the names can get confusing, I try to use the currently (re)marketed/(re)branded name used by Cadence itself and then put the former or common name(s) in parenthesis so things are a bit more clear.
