REQUIREMENTS

• Cadence License: (Allegro) PCB Editor
  

  At the moment, you need a "PCB Editor" license from Cadence to use the project software but you do not need an "Expert/SKILL" license. The project releases has been successfully used with "Designer" and "Studio" and "Expert" licenses. The exact details of what is allowed and/or disallowed by all the possible, various and sundry licenses provided by Cadence is something you'll have to figure out on your own.

• Architectures and Operating Systems
  

  A full list architectures, operating systems and vendor versions where testing is done is avialable in the Testing section.

  I have roughly tested the DesignTools code on the following hardware and operating system combinations:

  • x86 - Microsoft Windows NT v4.0 (a.k.a. "NT")
  • x86 - Microsoft Windows NT v5.0 (a.k.a. "2000")
  • x86 - Microsoft Windows NT v5.1 (a.k.a. "XP")
  • UltraSparc - Sun Solaris v8.0

  Please Note: Other architectures and operating systems such as PARISC-HPUX, POWER-AIX and x86-Linux probably work just fine but I simply haven't tested them yet. If you have success with them, please let me know.
